शालिग्राम क्या है ? क्या है इसका महत्व ??

शालिग्राम एक प्रकार का जीवाश्म पत्थर है। धार्मिक आधार पर इसका प्रयोग परमेश्वर के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में भगवान का आह्वान करने के लिए किया जाता है। शालिग्राम मूलरूप से नेपाल में स्थित दामोदर कुंड से निकलने वाली काली गंडकी नदी से प्राप्त किया जाता है। इसलिए शालिग्राम को गंडकी नंदन भी कहते हैं। वैष्णव (हिंदू) पवित्र नदी गंडकी में पाए जानेवाला एक गोलाकार, आमतौर पर काले रंग के एमोनोइड (Ammonoid) जीवाश्म को विष्णु के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में पूजते हैं। शालिग्राम भगवान विष्णु का प्रसिद्ध नाम है। जो इन्हें देवी वृंदा के शाप के बाद मिला नाम है। हिंदू धर्म में शालिग्राम को सालग्राम के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। शालिग्राम का संबंध सालग्राम नामक गांव से भी है। यह गांव नेपाल में गंडकी नामक नदी के किनारे पर स्थित है। शिवलिंग और शालिग्राम को भगवान का विग्रह रूप माना जाता है और पुराणों के अनुसार भगवान के इस विग्रह रूप की ही पूजा की जानी चाहिए। शिवलिंग के तो भारत में लाखों मंदिर हैं, लेकिन शालिग्रामजी का एक ही मंदिर है। हिंदू धर्म में आमतौर पर मानवरूपी धार्मिक मूर्तियों के पूजन की प्रथा है। लेकिन इन मूर्तियों क...
